Vietah are a solo project from Belarus that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2015 album "Czornaja cvil" which was released by Possession Productions.
A very distorted lo-fi yet heavy sound starts off the album while also getting very melodic at times and after a couple of minutes drums are added onto the recording along with some guitar leads that also bring in a decent amount of melody and when synths are utilized they bring elments of ambient onto the recording.
Most of the vocals are grim black metal screams and all of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when tremolo picking is utilized it gives the music more of a raw feeling and all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard while all of the tracks sound different from each other and throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Vietah plays a style of black metal that is very atmospheric while also having its raw moments and bringing in a small touch of dark ambient, the production sounds very dark and raw while the the lyrics are written in Belarusian and cover cosmos, nature and spirituality themes.
In my opinion Vietah are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kol" and "Niezvarotnasc". 8 out of 10.
