This is a review of a split cassette between Netherlands's Reizger and Alruin called "Hertovenarij" which was released by Nebular Carcoma Records and we will start off the review with Reizger a band that plays a very atmospheric style of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very dark and atmospheric sound along with some ambient style synths and after a few seconds the music goes into a very fast and raw black metal direction that utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats along with some high pitched screams.
They also mix in the atmospheric sounds in with the heavier parts and their song is very long and epic in length and after awhile the music starts to slow down a bit and starts bringing in more of a depressive atmosphere while also returning back to the faster sections at times and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts.
Reizger plays a style of black metal that is very raw while also mixing in atmospheric, depressive and ambient elements to create a style of their own, the production sounds very dark while the lyrics are written in Dutch and cover dark themes.
In my opinion Reizger are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split.
Next up is Alruin a band that plays an atmospheric style of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with atmospheric sounding synths and after a few seconds the music goes into a very fast and raw musical direction along with some blast beats and tremolo picking and depressive black metal screams can be heard and the song also b rings in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and their song is over 8 minutes in length, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Dutch and cover dark themes.
In my opinion Alruin are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and if you are a fan of atmospheric black metal, you should check out this cassette. 8 out of 10.
