Smiercieslau are a band from Belarus that plays a very raw mixture of black and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "Cjomy Pryliu Razburennja/Ciemrazou" which was released by Possession Productions.
Distorted playing starts off the album and after a few seconds high pitched black metal screams and thrash infleunced guitar riffing are added onto the recording along with some solos and leads that also remain true to an 80's style of extreme metal while the vocals gives the music a more up to date approach.
Blast beats can be heard during the faster sections of the songs while the riffs also bring in a great amount of morbid sounding melodies and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and a few of the tracks are very long and epic in length and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound tot hem while every song alsosticks to a very heavy musical direction.
Smiercieslau plays a musical style that takes the first and second wave styles of black metal and mixes them with thrash to create a very raw yet retro sound, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover Occultism, Death and Black Metal themes.
In my opinion Smiercieslau are a very great sounding mixture of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Eternal Grief, Black metal And Pain" "Ode To the Firstmoon Gloomness And Darkness" "Death Worshiper" and "Dark Clouded Altar". 8 out of 10.
