Torc are a band from the Czech Republic that plays a very raw form of pagan/black metal with some hardcore elements and this is a review of their 2016 album "Tony Annwnu" which was released by Murderous Music Productions.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking, blast beats and high pitched screams and after awhile melodic riffing and grim growls start getting mixed into some parts of the songs and they also mix in some elements of hardcore punk and beat which also makes the music stand out a bit more.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style with some technical elements and some tracks also bring in a small amount of hardcore style vocals along with some spoken word parts also being utilized at times while some riffs show a slight influence and one track brings in acoustic guitars and melodic vocals which also gives the music more of a folk metal feeling.
Torc plays a musical style that takes a raw form of pagan/black metal and mixes in some hardcore influences to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very dark dark and raw while the lyrics are written in their native tongue and cover paganism themes.
In my opinion Torc are a very great sounding raw pagan/black metal band with elements of hardcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Prodani" "Co neslysime" "Imbas" and "Ztracent v soce". 8 out of 10.
