Sweden's duo Golgota has returned with a new recording which continues the raw and melodic style of black metal from their previous releases and this is a review of their 2020 album "Tempel" which will be released on November 30th by Satanath Records.
Dark sounding synths start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. the riffs also add in a great amount of melody while the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams and the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's Swedish style.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. One of the tracks also introduces clean playing onto the recording along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them, clear vocals can also be heard in some parts of the recording.
On this recording Golgota remain true to the raw and melodic style that they have established on previous releases. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Swedish and cover dark themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Golgota and if you are a fan of raw and melodic black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Tempel" "Latklockoma klamta" and "Med din kyss kom morkret". 8 out of 10.
