Desecrator Of Sanctuary are a solo project from Ontario, Canada that plays a very depressive form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2022 ep "Unsettling".
Depressive black metal s creams start off the ep along with some heavy yet melodic riffing a few seconds later. Clear vocals can also be heard briefly along with all of the drum beats also being programmed as well as one song also adding in a brief use of melodic guitar leads, one track is also an instrumental.
. All of the songs stick to either a slow or mid tempo direction along with one song also adding in a brief use of clean playing and spoken word parts and the music also mixes in some non dsbm influences along with the last track also adding in some melodic riffing and angry sounding growls..
Desecrator Of Sanctuary plays a style of depressive black metal that is very different from most bands in this genre. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover despair themes.
In my opinion Desecrator Of Sanctuary are a very great sounding depressive black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Control Through Fear" and "Unsettling". 8 out of 10.
