Abigorum are a solo project from Russia that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays an instrumental mixture of black, doom metal and dark ambient and this is a review of his self titled 2012 demo which was released by Satanath Records.
Clean playing starts off the album along with some distorted ambient sounds being added into the music a few seconds later as well as adding in melodic guitar solos which also adds more elements of metal on the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
At times the music can be very avant garde and experimental and no vocals or song writing are ever utilized and some of the riffs also bring in a small amount of melody and there is also a small amount of programmed blast beats and after awhile the influence of black and doom metal can be heard in the songs and most of the music sticks to a slow direction.
On this recording Abigorum played a style of instrumental music that was very avant garde and experimental while also adding in the darkness and heaviness of black and doom metal and the production also sounds very dark and raw.
in my opinion this was another great sounding recording from Abigorum and if you are a fan of dark ambient, black and doom metal, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cadaver Vomitoria" and "Altar Of No Melody". 8 out of 10.
