Brunndl are a band from Italy that plays a pagan form of black metal and this is a review of t heir self titled 2016 album which was released by Grom Records.
A very fast and raw black metal sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of blast beats and all of t he musical instruments sound very powerful and clean playing can be heard in certain sections off the recording along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Vocals are mostly grim, high pitched black metal screams while clean singing pagan vocals can also be heard at times which also gives the music a folk metal feeling and the riffs can also get very melodic at times along with a few of the tracks being very long and epic in length and some songs also bring in a small amount of clean guitars and the solos and leads the band uses also add a great amount of melody onto the recording and later tracks also bring in a small amount of keyboards and folk instruments.
Brunndl plays a style of pagan black metal; that is very epic and melodic while also having its raw and heavy moments, the production sounds very powerful while the lyrics cover Paganism, Folklore and heritage themes.
In my opinion Brunndl are a very great sounding pagan/black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Freyjoch" and "Sonno e Verena". 8 out of 10.
