Nott are a solo project from Italy that plays a very raw form of black metal and this is a review of his 2015 album "Immaculate Eclipse" which was released by Razed Soul Productions.
A very fast and raw black metal sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats and after a few seconds deep almost growling type vocals are added into the music along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the vocals also bring in high pitched screams at times.
A lot of the riffs bring in a great amount of tremolo picking that is very heavily rooted in the early 90's second wave style of black metal while the music still has a modern sound to it and melodic guitar leads can also be heard in the music at times without ever bringing in actual solos and as the album progresses the songs start bringing in more catchy sounding riffing while one song also brings in a brief use of clean singing and the whole album also remains raw and heavy from beginning to ending of the recording.
Nott plays a style of black metal that is very raw and traditional sounding without sounding old or dated, the production sounds very raw yet powerful at the same time while the lyrics cover death, philosophy, nihilism, and anti religion themes.
In my opinion Nott are a very great sounding raw black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ultimate Seal" "Doomed Ruins" "Rite Of Passage" and "Flaming End". 8 out of 10.
