...Dieses are a band from Russia that plays a dark form of black metal with some death metal elements and this is a review of their 2012 album "Epos Av Gammel Norsk Skog" which was released by Satanath Records.
A very fast, raw and atmospheric black metal sound starts off the album along with a great amount of grim screams and blast beats as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and the riffs along with the solos also use a great amount of melody and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
You can hear a lot of 90's influences throughout the recording and the vocals also get very deep at times almost bordering on death metal while still having a ritualistic tone to them and that same genre also has an influence on some of the riffs as well while some songs also bring in a touch of Greek style black metal and there is also a great amount of diversity present throughout the recording and one track also brings in epic sounding synths along with a small amount of clean playing and they close the album with cover's of Darkthrone's "Black Victory Of Death" and Six Feet Under's "Silent Violence".
...Dieses plays a style of black metal that is very dark and can be very raw at times while also having a sound that is very close to the Greek bands of the early 90's and they also bring in a touch of death metal which also makes the songs stand out a bit more, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics are written in Norwegian and cover dark themes.
In my opinion ...Dieses are a very great sounding dark/black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Brystene" "Dod Villsun" "Kamier' and "Black victory Of Death". 8 out of 10.
