Gorrch are a band from Italy that plays a very raw, technical, and chaotic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Nera Estasi" which was released by Duplicate Records.
A very fast and technical sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats as well as grim black metal screams a few seconds alter while the tremolo picking also gives the music more of a raw feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
You can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording while some of the riffing can also be very melodic at times and the music is mostly done in a modern style while the influence of the second wave can be heard in the rawer sections of the music and when solos and leads are utilized they are very dark and melodic sounding and there is also a brief use of clean singing chants present on a couple of the tracks as well as some acoustic guitars being added onto some of the songs and a couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and they also close the album with an instrumental.
Gorrch plays a style of black metal that can be very progressive and technical at times while also still having a very dark and raw approach to the genre, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics are written in Latin and cover existentialism, dark and hateful themes.
In my opinion Gorrch are a very great sounding raw and technical black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cinico Domino" and "Intima Tenebra". 8 out of 10.
