Aldabaoth are a band from Mexico that plays a very atmospheric and old school form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2020 demo "Endless Fog".
Night sounds start off the demo along with some dark sounding keyboards a few seconds later while spoken word parts can also be heard on some of the tracks before going into a heavier musical direction. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams along with the guitar solos and leads being done in a very dark yet melodic style.
Clean playing can also be heard briefly while blast beats can also be heard in the faster sections of the songs. When tremolo picking is utilized it also gives the music more of a raw feeling while the music also has its ritualistic moments along with one track also introducing demonic sounding growls onto the recording and most of the music also sticks to aslower direction.
Aldabaoth plays a style of black metal that is very old school, atmospheric and ritualistic sounding in the 90's tradition. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness and occultism themes.
In my opinion Aldaoth are a very great sounding atmospheric and old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Voices From Beyond" "Black Bells Toll Again" "Bleed Together" and "We Rise Again From Darkness". 8 out of 10.
