Hexakosioihexekontahexaphilia are a solo project from the Netherlands that plays an experimental form of black metal and this is a review of his 2023 demo which will be released in May by Caligari Records.
Melodic guitar solo and leads start off the demo before go9ing into a very fast and r aw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are a mixture of clear avant garde style singing and black metal screams and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Elements of post punk can also be heard at times while t he songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Clean playing can also be heard briefly along with the music also having its experimental moments and some of the clear vocals show an influence of the early Isengard albums.
Hexakosioihexekontahexaphilia plays a style of black metal that is very experimental and avant garde as well as being more aggressive than most bands or projects playing this style. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark t hemes.
In my opinion Hexakosioihexekontahexaphilia are a very great sounding experimental black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Burning of A Temple". 8 out of 10.
