Hexenfluch are a band from Germany that plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Aradia" which was released on vinyl by Dominance Of Darkness Records.
Nature sounds and ritualistic percussion start off the album while chants can be heard briefly before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing and most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the songs also add in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Growls are also added into some of the vocals along with the music also adding in a decent amount of old school influences but also keeping modern at the same time,.
Ritualistic chants also return on some of the later tracks as well as the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style when they are utilized along with one track also introducing synths onto the recording and clean playing can also be heard on the closing track. The production sounds very dark and r aw while the lyrics are written in German and cover Witchcraft, Black Magick, Myths and Nature themes.
In my opinion Hexenfluch are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hekate" and "Schattenwelten". 8/5 out of 10.
