Black Communion are a band from Columbia that plays a mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Miasmic Misanthropy" which will be released in October by Dunkelheit Produktionen.
Chaotic guitar leads and demonic voices start off the album before going into a heavier musical direction. When the music speeds up a great amount of war metal elements, tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the vocals are a mixture of bestial growls and black metal screams.
Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Evil sounding spoken word parts can also be heard at times along with the music also showing some influences of the 90's era but modern at the same time as well as all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them.
Black Communion plays a musical style that takes war, black and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Occultism, Evil, Rituals and Desecration themes.
In my opinion Black Communion are a very great sounding mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Of Doom And Necromancy" "Funeral Vomit" and "Evil Nocturnal March". 8 out of 10.
