Proselenvs are a solo project from Russia that plays a psychodelic form of occult black metal and this is a review of his 2020 album "Svblimatio Interiorivm Tenebrrarvm" which was released by Dominance of Darkness Records.
Avant garde and ritualistic soundscapes start off the album along with some synths a few seconds later before going into a heavier musical direction. Vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats and tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some melodies also being added into some of the guitar riffing.
One track also introduces tribal style percussion onto the recording along with the music also having its atmospheric moments. A great portion of the songs are also very long and epic in length as well as some psychedelic touches also being utilized at times, whispers, spoken word parts and clean playing can also be heard briefly on the closing track. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Medieval Latin and cover Occultism themes.
In my opinion Proselenvs are a very great sounding avant garde occult black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ultionis Solvs Volatvs" and "Carmen Vltimvm". 8 out of 10.
