Isiulusions are a band from Austria that plays a mixture of black'n'roll, atmospheric black and traditional metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "I - Follow The Flow" which will be released in September by Black Sunset and MDD.
A very heavy sound starts off the album along with some melodic guitar leads a few seconds later. The vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and traditional metal style clean singing while the faster sections of the music also adds in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Spoken word parts can also be heard briefly along with one track also introducing clean playing onto the recording.
Elements of black'nroll are also added into the mid tempo sections of the songs along with some whispered vocals also being utilized at times. Clean playing also makes a return on some of the later songs as well as the music also having its atmospheric moments and some of the tracks are also long and epic in length. Touches of classic rock can also be heard at times and a couple of later songs are also instrumentals and the album closes with an acoustic ballad. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Isiulusions are a very great sounding mixture of black'n'roll, atmospheric black and traditional metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Feeding On Grime" "Fire Is No Harm" "Boon Or Bane" and "Sentenced to Misery". 8 out of 10.
