Varzoroth are a solo project from Germany that plays a very raw and misanthropic form of black metal and this is a review of his 2020 demo which was released by Morbid Chapel Records.
Dark riffing starts off the demo while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling along with the tracks also adding in a decent amount of 90's influences.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Most of the riffing is also done mostly on power chords and also avoids the use of any guitar solos and leads along with some atmospheric sounding synths also being added on the closing track.
Varzoroth plays a style of black metal that is very raw and misanthropic sounding in the 90's tradition. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover misanthropy, nihilism, darkness and death themes.
In my opinion Varzoroth are a very great sounding raw and misanthropic black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Distant Howl" and "Silent Nights".8 out of 10.
