Ravenous Dusk are a band from Australia which consists of members from Nazxul and Pestilential Shadows that plays a very old school and vampyric film of black metal with some symphonic touches and this is a review of their 2022 demo "The Dead Of Night" which will be released on March 31st by Seance Records.
Clean playing and symphonic sounding synths start off the demo before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the riffs also add in a great amount of melody.
All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while a couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. Most of the music is also very heavily rooted in t he 90's era along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style and one of the tracks is also an instrumental.
Ravenous Dusk plays a musical style that goes back to the early 90's style of Scandinavian black metal. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover vampirism, hell and darkness themes.
In my opinion Ravenous Dusk are a very great sounding old school and vampyric black metal band with some symphonic touched and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Tongues Of Black Flame" and "Poison Shadow". 8 out of 10.
