Todesschrei are a band from Austria that plays black'n'roll and this is a review of t heir 2022 album "Sturmgeister" which was released by Wolfmond Production.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album along with some grim black metal screams a few seconds later. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and keyboards can also be heard briefly.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and on some songs the music goes for a mid tempo direction while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Elements of black'n'roll can also be heard in the mid tempo sections of the songs along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them as well as a couple of the songs also being long and epic in length.
Todesschrei plays a musical style that take s old school black metal and mixes it with black'n'roll to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and r aw while the lyrics are written in German and cover suicide and death themes.
In my opinion Todesschrei are a very great sounding black'n'roll band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sturmgeister" "Nebelland" and "Der Tod ruft mich". 8 out of 10.
