Terzij de Horde are a band from the Netherlands that plays post black metal with elements of progressive doom metal, hardcore and screamo and this is a review of their 2022 album "In One Of Those, I Am Your Enemy" which will be released in April by Consouling Sounds and Tartarus Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while the faster sections of the songs also ad d in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with the riffs also adding in a lot of melodies.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the music is also very heavily rooted in the post metal style. Elements of doom metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the songs along with some of the vocals also showing an influence of screamo.
Most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with the mid tempo sections of the songs also showing an influence of hardcore and at times the music also gets very progressive sounding, when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style. Growls and shouts can also be heard at times and clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover how entire worlds are created and destroyed.
In my opinion Terzij de Horde are a very decent sounding mixture of post black, progressive doom metal, hardcore and screamo and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Cheiron". 7 out of 10.
