Blood Artillery are a solo project from Italy that plays a mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of his 2021 demo "Radioactive Utopia" which was released by Extreme Chaos.
Harsh noises start off the demo before going into a very fast and raw metal musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are also a mixture of bestial death metal growls and black metal screams and most of the tracks are also in a 2 and a half minute range.
The music also adds in a great amount of 90's influences but keeps it modern at the same time while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The riffs are also being mostly done on power chords along with the songs avoiding any use of melody and when guitar solos and leads are utilized briefly they are also done in a very chaotic style.
Blood Artillery plays a musical style that t akes war, black and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Nuclear War, Nihilism and Hatred themes.
In my opinion Blood Artillery are a very great sounding mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gas Mask Generation" and "Converted To Hatred". 8 out of 10.
