Bræ are a solo project from an unknown area that plays a very raw and old school form of ambient black metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "A Thousand Ways To End It All" which was released by Amor Fati Productions.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. Vocals are mostyl distorted yet high pitched black metal screams along with the recording being divided into two songs that are over 20 minutes in length and the recording also captures a very lo-fi atmosphere at times.
Most of the music is also very heavily rooted in the mid 90's to early 2000's era while the riffing also has its repetitive moments. When synths are utilized they also bring elements of dark ambient onto the recording along with all of the drum b eats also being programmed along with all of the music sticking to either a slow or mid tempo direction as well as adding in a great amount of raw sounding riffs.
Bræ plays a style of ambient black metal that is very raw, mid tempo and old school sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while 5the lyrics are a concept album based upon death.
In my opinion Bræ are a very great sounding raw and old school ambient black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genres, you should check out this album. 8 out of 10.
