France's solo project Esoctrilihum has returned with a new recording which shows the music going for a violent and nihilistic form of black metal and this is a review of his 2022 album "Consecration Of The Spiritüs Flesh" which will be released in June by I, Voidhanger Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album before going into a very fast musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of blast beats. Vocals are mostly angry yet high pitched sounding black metal screams while the riffs also add in a great amount of melody and the tremolo picking also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while spoken parts can also be heard briefly, Death metal growls are also added into certain sections of the album along with some of the tracks also being very long and epic in length and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style when they are utilized.
Acoustic guitars can also be heard briefly along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them as well as the music also having its psychedelic and apocalyptic moments, clean playing and synths can also be heard at times. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in French and cover the wounds of the flesh and of the human spirit.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Esoctrilihum and if you are a fan of violent and nihilistic black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Spiritüs Flesh" "Scaricide" and "Aath". 8 out of 10.
