Ligfaerd are a band from Denmark that plays a very aggressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "Salvator Mundi" which was released by Vendetta Records.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched yet angry sounding black metal screams while the riffs also add in a lot of melody as well as some songs also adding in some growls and the music also shows some influences of the more aggressive Swedish style.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments on the album also have a very powerful sound to them. Spoken word samples can also be heard on a couple of tracks along with the solos and leads also being done in a very dark yet melodic style when they are utilized as well as one track being a keyboards orientated instrumental before returning back to a heavier direction on the following songs.
Ligfaerd plays a style of black metal that is very fast and aggressive sounding. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics are written in Danish and cover religious insanity themes.
In my opinion Ligfaerd are a very great sounding fast and aggressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Svaerdet og Bettelstaven" "Pris Hans Navn" "Min Vilje Ske" and "Det Hellige Tempel". 8 out of 10.
