Warren Of Chaos is a solo project from British Columbia, Canada that plays an acoustic form of depressive black metal and this is a review of his self released 2022 album "Agony Acoustice".
Acoustic guitars start off the album and also bring in elements of folk music while the vocals are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams. Synth effects can also be heard in the background at times along with the music also avoiding the use of any electric or traditional metal instruments.
The guitars also add in a good mixture of both full chords and finger picking while also serving as the lead instruments on this recording along with all of the music also sticking to a slower direction.
Warren Of Chaos plays a musical style that takes the acoustic guitar format and mixes it with high pitched depressive black metal screams to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover darkness, depression, death, drugs and apocalyptic themes.
In my opinion Warren Of Chaos are a very great sounding acoustic depressive black metal solo project and if you are looking for something that is very different sounding, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Withering Bloom" "Old Snow" and "This Is The End". 8 out of 10.
