Black Eucharist are a band with members from New York and South Carolina that plays a very raw, old school and blasphemous form of black metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "Inn Of The Vaticide" which will be released in June by Stygian Black Hand.
Choirs and spoken word parts start off the album before adding in a very powerful bass guitar sound which also takes the recording into a heavier direction. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs mor e of a raw feeling.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the music is also very heavily rooted in the early 90's USBM style. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some dark sounding melodies also being added into the guitar riffing at times.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain true to an old school style. Choirs also return in certain sections of the recording and a couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with one song also being a keyboard orientated instrumental. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover blasphemy, perversion and sexual deviancy themes.
In my opinion Black Eucharist are a very great sounding raw, old school and blasphemous black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Black Ejaculate" "Inn Of The Vaticide" and "A Foul Stench Lingers At Peor". 8 out of 10.
