Domini Inferni are a solo project from the Netherlands that plays a raw mixture of satanic black metal, death industrial and harsh noise and this is a review of his 2006 album "Devil Cult" which was re-issued in 2017 by Necromanteion.
Dark soundscapes start off the album along with some drum beats a few seconds later which also takes the music into a heavier direction. Vocals are a mixture of grim black metal screams and bestial growls while the spoken word parts also give the music more of a ritualistic feeling when they are utilized.
A small amount of melody is also added into some of the guitar riffing at times while harsh noises and power electronics are also added into certain sections of the recording. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the album more of a raw feeling.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain true to a raw style along with one song also introducing synths onto the album. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as one song also adding in a small amount of apocalyptic soundscapes, touches of death industrial and war metal can also be heard at times. A couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and Gregorian chants are also added on the closing song. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics covet Satanism, Devil Worship, Perversion and Blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Doni Inferni is a very great sounding raw mixture of satanic black metal, death industrial and noise and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Devil Cult" "In The Name of Satan" and "Give Praise To The Devil". 8 out of 10.
