Vezeren where a solo project from Italy that played a very raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of his self titled and self released 2015 album.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Influences of death metal can also be heard at times and the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams.
Most of the music is heavily rooted in the 90's era while dark sounding melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing at times. The songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them, when guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain true to an old school style and a couple of tracks also adds in a brief use of clean playing.
Vezeren played a style of black metal that was very raw and old school in the 90's tradition. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness and destruction themes.
In my opinion Vezeren where a very great sounding raw and old school black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Global Self-Destruction" "Revelation" and "Barbed Wire Cage". 8 out of 10.
