This is a review of another recording from Michigan's solo project In Dusk's Embrace which shows the music going for a raw, lo-fi and atmospheric form of black metal and the album was released in 2022 by Ithildin Tape Production and called "Earth End's Pantheon".
Dark soundscapes start off the album while the only song that is present on this recording is over 30 minutes in length. Acoustic guitars can also be heard at times along with the synths also bring in elements of dark ambient which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the music at times and the track also captures a very lo-fi atmosphere.
At times the music also gets very atmospheric sounding while all of the drum beats are also programmed. The faster sections of the song also add in a decent amount of blast beats while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with the track also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, when tremolo picking is utilized they also give the recording more of a raw feeling.
On this recording In Dusk's Embrace introduces acoustic guitars into his raw, lo-fi and atmospheric style of black metal as well as keeping the ambient elements from his previous release. The production sounds very dark and raw while t he lyrics cover darkness, winter and nature themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from In Dusk's Embrace and if you are a fan of raw, lo-fi and atmospheric black metal, you should check out this album. 8 out of 10.
