Eisige Venen are an international band with members from the United States and South Korea and plays a very atmospheric and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2023 album "Ghosts Of Yesterday".
Atmospheric sounding synths start off the album and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs at times. Melodies are also added into a lot of the guitar riffing while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style.
All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while One song also introduces clean playing onto the album and when the music finally speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the tracks more of a raw feeling, the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Eisige Venene plays a style of b lack metal that is very modern, atmospheric and melodic sounding. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover depression and sadness themes.
In my opinion Eisige Venin are a very great sounding atmospheric and melodic black metal b and and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Along A Barren Shore" "Beyond The Veil" "Death Springs Eternal" and "The Last Time I Died". 8 out of 10.
