Ainsoph are a band from the Netherlands that plays a very experimental form of post black metal and this is a review of their 2025 album "Affection And Vengeance" which will be released in march by Wolves Of Hades.
Clean playing starts off the album and keyboards start off the album along with some touches of post punk a few seconds later. Clear vocals can also be heard at times while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful to t hem and the recording also has its experimental moments.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic post metal style while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody. When the music speeds up a great amount of black metal style tremolo picking and blast beats van be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Some of the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a lot of the music also capturing a very melancholic atmosphere as well as some spoken words also being added into certain sections of the recording. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the nadirs of the boy, mind and soul.
In my opinion Ainsoph are a very decent sounding experimental post black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Beaten Path Made Flesh" "Call To The Fire" and "Purple Curtains". 7/5 out of 10.
