Angrrsth/Czort/W Czeluść/Godz Ov War Productions/2022 Split Album Review

 

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album  between  Poland's  Angrssth  and  Czort  called  "W  Czeluść"  which  will  be  released  in  September  by  Godz  Ov  War  Productions  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Angrssth  a  band  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  raw  and  aggressive  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  sound  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  their  side  of  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

  Shouts  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  one  of  the tracks  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  Throughout  their  side  of  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  some  spoken  word  parts  and  clear  vocals  also  being  utilized  briefly,  the  music  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments  and  growls  can  also  be  heard  at  times.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Polish  and  cover  dark  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Angrssth  and  if  you  are  a f an  of  raw  and  aggressive  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Petla".

  Next  up  is  Czort  a  band  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  melodic  form  of  black  metal.

 

 Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  sound  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  The  riffs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  Throughout  their  side  of  the  recording  you  can  also  heat  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  all  of  the  music  also  sticking  to  a  heavier  direction  and  at  times  the  vocals  also  get  deep  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and r aw  while  the  lyrics  cover  blasphemy,  evil  and  darkness  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Czort  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  melodic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a f an  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Ofiara".

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  i  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  Polish  black  metal.  8  out  of  10.

Angrrsth/Donikad/Godz Of War Productions/2021 Full Length Review

 

  Angrrsth  are  a  band  form  Poland  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  aggressive  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2021  album  "Donikad"  which  will  be  released  on  April  17th  by  Godz  Of  War  Productions.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Angry  sounding  shouts  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  along  with  the  guitar  leads  being  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  when  they  are  utilized.

  Atmospheric  soundscapes  are  also  added  into  some  parts  of  the  recording  along  with  a  couple of  the  songs  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  some  whispers  also  being  utilized  briefly,  a  brief  use  of  melodic  vocals  are  also  added  on  a  track  and  are  mixed  down  low  in  the  mix  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Polish  and  cover  dark  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Angrrsth  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  aggressive  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Niebianski  pogrzeb"  "Pierwszy  jest  strach"  and  "Ostatni  akt".  8  out  of  10.
