Ritual Laceration are a band from the United States that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a dual bass form of bestial black noise and this is a review of their 2021 ep "Putrid Womb" which was released by Life After Death.
Harsh noise start off the ep before adding in some powerful sounding bass guitars a few seconds later. Spoken word samples can also be heard briefly before going into a very fast and brutal musical direction which also adds in a great amount of blast beats and war metal elements and the vocals also add in a lot of black metal screams.
Bestial growls can also be heard at times while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The bass guitars also take the place of a regular guitar and also mange to capture a great amount of rawness and brutality along with the spoken word parts also returning on some of the later tracks and all of the music also sticks to a heavier direction.
On this recording Ritual Laceration continue the mixture of war, bestial black/death metal and noise that they had established on their previous demo. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover horror and violence themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Ritual Laceration and if you are a fan of war, bestial black/death metal and noise, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gnawed" and "Aether Wounds". 8 out of 10.
