Sysi/Self Titled/2026 EP Review

  Sysi  are  a  band  from  Finland  that  plays  a  very  depressive  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  and  self  released  2026  ep.

  Ambient  style  synths  start  off  the  ep  before  going  into  more  of  a  heavier  and  melodic  direction  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  depressive  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  melody.

  Spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  while the  ep    also  adds  in  a  great  amount  of  clean  playing.  At  times  the  music  gets  very  atmospheric  sounding  along  with  the  songs  adding  a  more  modern  approach  to  the  genre  and  the  whole  ep  also  sticks  to  a  slower  direction,  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  amount  of  90's  infleunces.

  Sysi  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  slow  and  depressive  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Finnish  and  cover  mental  health  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Sysi  are  a  very  great  sounding  depressive  black  metal   band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Minka  fahden".  8  out  of  10.

Blackness/Crossing The Abyss/Darker Then Black Records/Final Agony Records/Poisonous Sorcery/2025 Full Length Review

  Blackness  are  a  band  from  Belarus  that  plays  an  occult  form  of  black  emtal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Crossing  The  Abyss"  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  between  Darker  Then  Black,  Final  Agony  Records  and  Poisonous  Sorcery.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  synths  are  also  utilized  at  times  and  add  in  touches  of  ambient  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  melody  and  most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  of  the  genre.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  guitar  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  when  they  are  utilized  and  the  music  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments.

  Blackness  plays  a  style  of  occult  black  metal  that  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  of  the  genre.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Western  Occultism,  Hermetic  Philosophy,  Alchemy  and  Qabalah  themes.   

  In  my  opinion  Blackness  are  a  very  great  sounding  occult  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Vitriol"  "Nigredo"  and  "Crossing  The  Abyss".  8/5  out  of  10.

Fugit/Where Foxes Say Goodnight/2026 Length Review

 

  Italy's  solo  project  Fugit  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  atmospheric  and  psychedelic  mixture  of  post  black,  doom  metal,  blackgaze  and  ambient  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  released  2026  album  "Where  Foxes  Say  Goodnight"  which  will b e  released  in  October.  

  Post  rock  style  clean  playing  starts  off  the  album  while  the  recording  also  adds  in  a  lot  of  touches  of  shoegaze.  When  synths  are  utilized  they  also  add  in  elements  of  ambient  as  well  as  taking  the  music  into  more  of  an  atmospheric  direction  and  the  slower  riffing  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  doom  metal.

  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  album  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  a  couple  of  songs  also  add  in a   good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  a  couple  of  songs  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  clear  female  and  male  vocals,  Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  some  spoken  words  also  being used  at  timrd.  One  song  is  also  an  instrumental  and  the  album  also  has  its  psychedelic  moments,  acoustic  guitars  are  also  added  towards  the  end.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  a  mixture  of  English  and  Italian  and  cover  night  and  distance  with  some  inspirations  from  the  poems  of  Edgar  Allan  Poe  and  the  paintings  of  Hermann  Kaulbach. 

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Fugit  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  atmospheric  and  psychedelic  post  black,  doom  metal,  blackgaze  and  ambient, you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Where  Foxes  Say  Goodnight"  and  "Le  malincomie  dei  mondo".  8  out  of  10.

  Shamorga  are  a  solo  project  from  Estonia  that  plays  a  very  experimental  and  avant  garde  form  of  black  metal  with  elements  of  dark  ambient  and  death  industrial  and  this  is  a  revie w of  his  self  released  2025  album  "Mordia".

  

  Programmed  beats  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  vocals  are mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  when  they  are  used.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  dissonant  and  experimental  sounding  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast beats  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  guitar  leads  adding  in  more  of  darker  style,  stringed  instruments  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  

One  song  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  clear  chants  along  with the  recording  also  going  into  more  of  an  experimental  direction  at  times.  and  some  tracks  add  in  elements  of  death  industrial  and  dark  ambient,  spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  song  themes  focus  on  psychological  horror.

  In  my  opinion  Shamorga  are  a  very  great  sounding  experimental  and  avant  garde  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Aelory"  "Gelindox"  and  "Shatana".  8  out  of  10.

  Dark  ambient  synths  start  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times.  Electronic  and  industrial  beats  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  some  of  the  tracks  are  also  long  and  epic  in  length.  A  couple  of  the  songs  are  also  instrumentals  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  album  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling

  France's  solo  project  Esoctrilihum  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for a   symphonic  and  mystical  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2026  album  "Annochiül  Xar  Sorthïlazur"  which  will  be  released  in  October  by  I,  Voidhanger  Records.

  Symphonic  orchestration  starts  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times.   Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  mixed  in  with  some  clear  operatic  style  singing  while  most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts   while  the  music  also  adds  in  a  great  amount  of  death  metal  elements.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  music  also   mixing  in  a  decent  amount  of  ambient  and  psychedelic  elements  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  when  they  are  utilized,  growls  can  also  be  heard  on  a  few  tracks  and  one  song  also  adds  in   brief  use  of  acoustic  guitars.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism,  Esotericism  and  Mythology  themes  within  a  fictional  universe.

  Ambient  style  synths  start  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times.  The  recording  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  blast  beats   can  also  be  heard  briefly  when  the  album  speeds  up  on  a  couple  of  tracks.  A  lot  of  the  music  also  adds  a  minimalist  approach  to  the  genre,  when  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  fast  riffs  they  also  give  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  the  songs  stick  to  either  a  slow  or  mid  tempo  direction.

  On  this  recording  Skuggor  continues  to  expand  on  the  atmospheric  style  of  ambient  black  metal  that  he  has  introduced  on  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Swedish  and  cover  nature  themes.

Bruch Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the solo project?

Lauern: "Bruch" was brought to life at the beginning of April 2026. I play Raw Black Metal and Ambient. All recordings are done in a primitive, analogue way

2.Earlier in July you had released a demo, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on the recording?

Lauern: I used an analogue mixer and two cheap tapedecks for the recordings. The musical style variates between raw, traditional, minimalistic Black Metal and Lo-Fi Ambient stuff. I wanted to create something to lead the listeners away from their so called civilisation into a dark, occult realm.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored so far with the music?

Lauern: The lyrics are mainly about dark witchcraft, misanthropic Fantasie and strange lost places.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Bruch'?

Lauern: "Bruch" is an old German word for "swamp" or "moorland", so it shall symbolize something remote from everyday life.

5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the demo cover?

Lauern: The artwork shall underline this imagination of a dark, remote place to fear by those who call themselves "normal" why they can't get out of their bubble.

6.With this project you record everything by yourself, are you open to working with other musicians or do you prefer to work solo?

Lauern: I also have a well - known guest drummer for (extrenely rare) live shows: Dreier (Ex - Purgatory). We are also working on something new at the moment!

7.So far very little is known about the musical project, do you prefer to keep a lower profile?

Lauern: I guess for some people it's kind of an open secret who I am but that doesn't have to matter. People shall focus on the music, not on gossip with reference to who I am, what I do and so on. "Bruch" shall run completely independant from everything else.

8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received an interest?

Lauern: The first demo will soon appear on tape at Crimson Reign records in an extremely limited edition.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction bene to your music by fans of black metal and dark ambient?

Lauern: "Bruch" isn't that old yet, but the first reactions by some Fans of Lo-Fi Black Metal were surprisingly positive. The DIY attitude got commended.

10.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see yourself heading into as a musician during the future?

Lauern: "Bruch" will stay underground but there will be a lot of output in the future, so a full length during the next months is realistic.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Lauern: The project's musical style got inspired by a mixture of Arckanum and Darkthrone's "Panzerfaust" - album.

12.Does Occultism play any role in your music?

Lauern: Sure.

  This  is  the  final  review  of  a  recording  from  United  Kingdom's  solo  artist  Eldritch  which  shows  the  music  moving  away  from  the  black  metal  style  of  earlier  releases  and  focusing  more  on  a  mixture  of  dark  ambient,  electronic  music,  dungeon  synth  and  experimental  and  the  ep  was  self  released  in  2025  and  called  "Thalassophobia".

  Dungeon  synth  style  synths  start  off  the  ep  while  also  adding  in  a  variety  of  many  different  sounding  keys  and  also  adding  in  elements  of  dark  ambient.  Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  most  of  the  recording  also  sticking  to  an  instrumental  musical  direction.

  Electronic  sounds  are  also  utilized  at  times  while  the  music  also  has  its  experimental  moments  and  each  track  also  sounds  very  different  from  each  other  and  also  captures  the  atmosphere  of  a  cosmic  horror  movie  soundtrack,  programmed  beats  can  also  be  heard  at  times.

  On  this  recording  Eldritch  moves  away  from  the  black  metal  style  of  earlier  releases  and  focuses  more  on  a mixture  of  dungeon  synth,  dark  ambient,  electronic  music  and  experimental  as  well  as  keeping  everything  instrumental  while  the  song  themes  are  inspired  by  the  writings  of  H.P  Lovecraft.

Heyf/Spectra/2021 EP Review

  Heyf  are  an  international  duo  with  members  from  Brazil  and t he  Iraqi  part  of  Kurdistan  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  with  elements  of  dark  ambient  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2021  ep  "Spectra".

  Ambient  style  synths  start  off  the  ep  before  going  into  as  heavier  direction  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  atmospheric  sounding  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Clean  playing  can  also  be  heard on  a  couple  of  tracks  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  when  they  are  utilized,  the  ep  closes  with  an  instrumental.

  Heyf  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  atmospheric  sounding  as  well  as  adding  in  elements  of  dark  ambient  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  war,  darkness  and  melancholy  themes.

  Italy's  solo  project  Hesperia  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  very  epic,  atmospheric  and  medieval  form  of  pagan  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2026  album  "Picenam  (True  Marchigian  Black  Metal  Renaissance"  which  will  be  released  in  Agust  by  Hammerheart  Records.

  Nature  sounds  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  atmospheric  sounding  synths  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  capture  a  very  medieval  atmosphere  and  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  melody.

When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  album  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  A  lot  of  the  recording  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  mid  90's  era  of  the  genre  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  spoken  words.  Acoustic  guitars  and  folk  instruments  are  also  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  recording  as  well  as  most  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length,  elements  of  ambient  are  also  utilized  at  times,  Gregorian  chants  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  history,  folklore,  legends  and  the  paganism  of  the  Marche  region.

  I  Proélefsi  are  a  solo  project  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  an  instrumental  form  of  atmospheric  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2026  album  "Ypógeio  Vasíleio"  which  will  be  released  in  July  by  Depressive  Illusions  Records.

  Atmospheric  soundscapes  start  off  the  album  before  introducing  melodic  guitar  riffing  onto  the  recording  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Elements  of  ambient  and  synths  are  also  utilized  at  times  along  with  some  orchestration  and  programming  and  all  of  the  tracks  avoid  the  use  of  any  vocals  mixed  in  with  some  avant  garde  touches  and  spoken  words  are  also  added  towards  the  end.

  On  this  recording  I Proélefsi  focuses  more  on  an  instrumental  and  atmospheric  form  of  ambient  black  metal  as  well  as  keeping  everything  instrumental.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  song  themes  focus  on  alchemy.

  This  is  a  review  of  a  4  wat  split  album  between  U.S.A's  Deathspiral  Of  Inherited  Suffering,  Panegyrist/  Maerund  and  Australia's  Elysian  Blaze  called  "Sunthema"  which  will  be  released  in  June  as  a  joint  effort  between  Voidhanger  Records  and  Rubeus  Obex  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Deathspiral  Of  Inherited  Suffering  a  band  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  ritualistic  soundscapes  and  demonic  voices.  while  also  adding  in  elements  of  ambient  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  and  the  vocals  add  in  a  mixture  of  death  metal  growls  and  black  metal  screams.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  and  raw  tremolo  picking.  The  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  synths  and  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  at  times  and  spoken  words  are  also  used  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the lyrics  cove r fury,  grief  and  sacrifice.

  In  my  opinion  Deathspiral  Of  Inherited  Suffering  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of t hose  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Houses  of  Abysmal  Masks.

  Next  up  is  Elysian  Blaze  a  solo  project  that  plays  an  atmospheric  mixture  of  black  and  funeral  doom  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  nature  sounds  and  atmospheric  sounding  synths  which  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  recording.  Clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  briefly  while  the  sonly  song  present  on  his  side  of  the  split  is  also  over  17  minutes  in  length  and  the  slower  sections  also  add  in  elements  of  funeral  doom  metal.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  harsh  vocals  also  adding  in  a  mixture  of  death  metal  growls  and  black  metal  screams  which  are  mixed  down  low  in  the  mix,  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  raw  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard.  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  nature  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Elysian  Blaze  is  a  very  great  sounding  atmospheric  mixture  of  black  and  funeral  doom  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.

  Next  up  is  Panegyrist  a  band  that  plays  a  very  avant  garde  and  symphonic  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  dissonant  sound  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams  while  symphonic  elements  are  also  mixed  in  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  and  both  of t heir  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  avant  garde  sounding  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  dissonant  style,  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  clear  singing  is  also  utilized  at  times.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Luciferous  Christworship.

  In  my  opinion  Panegyrist  are  a  very  great  sounding  avant  garde  and  symphonic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Luciferous".

   Closing  the  split  is  Maerund  a  solo  project  that  plays  an  orthodox  form  of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  sound  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  The  clear  vocals  also  add  in  some  avant  garde  touches  mixed  in with  some  harsh  black  metal  screams  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody.

  Throughout  his  side  of  the  split  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  percussion  is  also  used  at  times.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Neoplatonic  Theurgy  and  Orthodox  Mysticism.

  In  my  opinion  Maerund  are  a  very  great  sounding  orthodox  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Red  Crystal  Lattive".

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  modern  black  emtal.  8  out  of  10.

  This  is  a  review  of  a  collaboration  between  U.S.A's  solo  project  Sutekh  Hexen  and  Hissing  which  shows  the  2  projects  mixing  their  2  different  styles  together  and  brings  out  an  experimental  mixture  of  black,  death  metal,  ambient  and  noise  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "SH:HS"  which  will  be  released  in  June  as  a  joint  effort  Cyclic  Law  and  Phage  Tapes.

  Harsh  noises  start  off  the  album  while  the  vocals  also  add  in  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls.  Both  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  elements  of  dark  ambient  when  they  are  utilized  and  the  whole  recording  is  done  in  an  improvised  style..

  At  times  the  music  also  goes  into  more  of  an  experimental  direction while  whispered  vocals  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  album  also  has  its  ritualistic  moments  along  with  the  drums  also  giving  the  recording  more  of  a  brutal  touch  when  they  are  introduced  and  both  of  the  tracks  also  sound  very  different  from  each  other,  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard  briefly.

  On  this  recording  Sutekh  Hexen  and  Hissing  take  black,  death  metal,  noise,  experimental,  ambient  and  original  and  mix  them  together  to  create  something  very  original.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism  and  Rituals.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  collaboration  between  Sutekh  Hexen  and  Hissing  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black, death  metal,  noise,  experimental,  ambient  and  ritual,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "SEA".  8  out  of  10.
