Abigail/Inferno Requiem/Metal Bitch Violator/Conqueror Of The Golden Horde/Death Prayer Records/2019 Split Album Review

 

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album  between  Japan's  Abigail  and  Taiwan's  Inferno  Requiem  called  "Metal  Bitch  Violator/Conqueror  Of  The  Golden  Horde"  which  was  released  in  2019  by  Death  prayer  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Abigail  who  returns  with  their  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  thrash  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast,  raw  and  melodic  sound  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  tortured  sounding  black  metal  screams  while  the  solos  and  leads  also  bring  in  more  of  an  old  school  style  that  adds  in  some  touches  of  the  first  wave  era.

  Elements  of  thrash  metal  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  the  music  also  mixing  in  a  lot  of  80's  influences  without  sounding  outdated  and  most  of  the  songs  also  stick  to  a  faster  musical  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Metal,  Death  and  Doom  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Abigail  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  black  and  thrash  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Satanik  For  Slaughter"  and  "Morbid  of  Doom".

  Next  up  is  Inferno  Requiem  a  solo  project  who  returns  with  his  raw  style  of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  the  sounds  of  winds  and  wolfs  howling  before  going  into  a  heavier  and  melodic  musical  direction.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  yet  high  pitched  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats.

  When  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  faster  riffing  they  also  give  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  and  the  closing  track  is  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and r aw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Ancient  Mythologies,  Paganism,  Samsara,  Hell  and  Paranormal  Events.  

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Inferno  Requiem  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Conqueror  of  The  Golden  Horde".  8  out  of  10.

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  raw  and  old  school  black  and  thrash  metal.  8  out  of  10.

Inferno Requiem/Wolf From Onon Realm/Death Prayer Records/2019 Demo Review

 

  Inferno  Requiem  are  a  solo  project  from  Taiwan  that  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2019  demo  "Wolf  From  Onon  Realm"  which  was  released  by  Death  Prayer  Records.

  The  sounds  of  horses  and  tribal  chants  start  off  the  demo  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  both  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  The  tracks  also show  influences  from  both  the  modern  and  old  school  era's  of  the  genre  along  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very melodic  style  and  keyboards  can  also  be  heard  briefly  on  the  closing  track.

  Inferno  Requiem  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  traditional  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and r aw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Paganism,  Ancient  Mythologies,  Samsara,  Paranormal  Events  and  Hell  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Inferno  Requiem  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Vastland  Ascension".  8  out  of  10.
