Sguaguarahchristis/Ground/2016 EP Review

  Sguarguarahcristis  are  a  band  from  Italy  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  raw  and misanthropic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2015  ep  "Ground".

 Wind  sounds  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  synths  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  leads  up  to  a  heavier  musical  direction  where  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording  along  with  some  grim  black  metal  screams  being  added  into  the  songs  which  also  get  high  pitched  at  times.

  Most  of  the  music  is  rooted  in  the  old  school  style  of  black  metal  and  atmospheric  sounds  are  also  mixed  into  the  music  at  times  along  with  most  of  the  tracks  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  along  with t he  music  going  for  more  of  a  raw  side  of  the  genre  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  very  chaotic  yet  melodic  at  the  same  time  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Sguarguarahcristis  creates  another  black  metal  recording  that  is  very  raw,  anti  human  and  misanthropic  in  the  old  school  tradition,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  hateful  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Sguarguarahcristus  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  misanthropic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Ater  Vii  Spektrum".  8  out  of  10.

1.Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?

1. We come from the  obscurity , we are no born and non dead ,the black wave is trasversal to any existence  and trascends into the real essence of the darkness .This is black metal ,, we are the sons of the blackest star of the night immaculate.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

3 We pay a perpetual tribute to mother night and her final embrace in the empty shades ,this is the great mystery of the universe ,the black infinite in a perpetual burning funeral . The lyrical theme of the RAVEN ep  is about the celebration of the real darkness in the eyes of the black raven ,this is a concept ep about the majesty of the night and death in memory of our guitarist J.J. Nehero passed away last feb. (suicide)

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?

4. A night trip , maybe a dream , the apparition of the suicidal angel Sguaguarah in the role of a new Jesus Christ ,a cascade of blood over this fool century , the return to our origins and heritage ,we are dust of star in the  eternal blank mirage over the oblivion

5.Currently little is known about the bands location, is that going to change in the future or do you choose to remain secret?

5. We come from the real darkness , darkness is everywhere .

6.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or received any interest?

6. We don't care about labels or music business , our music is free on our official page , black metal is for free souls , we are an army against the fucking blind light

7.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?

7.We 've received a lot of svpport from the black metal scene we want to thanks the black souls who svpport  our death march.

8.What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?

8. We will put out the second half part of Raven next fall ,you can expect the coldest black metal ever .

9. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

9. We are really deep inside the black metal underground ,we don't give a fuck of the trendy bastards on the stupid magazines for idiots who play with the fire : this stuff is really dangerous ,people should fear the darkness .

10.Does Satanism or Occultism play any role in your music?

Sguaguarahchristis/Raven/2013 EP Review

 Sguaguarahchristis  are  a   band  from  an  unknown  location  that  plays  a  very  hateful,  heavy,  raw  and  primitive  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2013 demo  "Raven".

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  great  amount  of  brutal  sounding  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars,  as  for  the  synths  which  are  only  used  briefly  they  bring  a  very  dark,  atmospheric  and  evil  sound  to  the  recording  without  being  used  as  a  lead  instrument.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  heavy,  old  school,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  in  the  90's  tradition  that  utilize  some  melody  and  there are  little  to  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

  Vocals  are  all  grim  sounding  and  high  pitched  black  metal  screams,  while the  lyrics  cover  dark,  hateful  and  misanthropic  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  heavy,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it  with  one  of  the  songs  being  long  and  epic  in  length.

  In  my  opinion  Sguaguarahchristis  are  a  very  great  sounding  heavy,  hateful,  raw  and  primitive  sounding  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Black  Wings  Of  Sorrow"  and  "Messenger Of  Death".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
