Sapientia ov Atlantis/The Nebula Ov Baphomet/Masters Of Kaos Productions/2023 Full length Review

 

  Sri  Lanka's  Sapientia  Ov  Atlantis  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  very  satanic  and  occult  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2023  album  "The  Nebula  Ov  Baphomet"  which  was  released  by  Masters  Of  Kaos  Productions.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  as  well  as  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  death  metal  growls  can  also  be  heard  at  times.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  also  remain  very  true  to  an  old  school  style  along  with  a  couple  of  the  tracks  also  being very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  a  couple  of  songs  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  synths,  spoken  word  parts  and  clear  chants.

  On  this  recording  Sapientia  ov  Atlantis  goes  for  more  of  an  old  school  and  occult  form  of  satanic  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Baphomet,  Left  Hand  path,  Demonology ,  Eastern  and  Western  Occultism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Sapientia  Ov  Atlantis  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  satanic  and  occult  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Mastering  The  Inverted  Star"  "Cosmic  Guidance  Through  Death"  "Eyes  Ov  Fire.  Rise  Ov  Satan"  and  "Summoning  My  Dukes  ov  Hell".  8/5  out  of  10.

Sapientia Ov Atlantis/Agwaati With Ancient Rites/2023 Full Length Review

 

  Sri  Lanka's  solo  project  Sapientia  Ov  Atlantis  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  a  satanic  and  occult  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  released  2023  album  "Agwaati  With  Ancient  Rites".

  Synths  which  also  mix  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  start  off  the  album  along  with  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  melodic  style.

  Most  of  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in t he  90's  era  while  clear  vocals  can  also  be  heard  on  one  of  the  tracks.  Death  metal  growls  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  as  well  as  the  album  also  having  its  symphonic  moments,  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  one  track  is  also  an  instrumental.

  On  this  recording  Sapientia   Ov  Atlantis  goes  for  more  of  a  satanic  and  occult  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  early  90's  era.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Hermitic  Principles,  Demonology,,  Cosmic  Rituals,  Astral  Travel, Egyptian/Sumerian  Gods,  Atlantis  and  Ancient  Ritual  Summonings.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Sapienttia  Ov  Atlantis  and  if  you  are  a f an  of  old  school  occult  and  satanic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Aye  The  Image  ov  Sun"  "Summoning  My  Dukes  Of  Hell"  "Demons  of  Trees  Manifest  The  Earth"  and  "Ritual  of  Death  Sacrifice  For  Apophis".  8  out  of  10.

  Sapientia  ov  Atlantis  are  a  solo  project  from  Sri  Lanka  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  an  old  school  mixture  of  occult  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  released  2022  ep  "Draught  Of  Light  From  Arullu".

  A  very  hard  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  some  grim  yet  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  a  few  seconds  later.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  and  melodic  style  while  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  The  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody  while  death  metal  growls  can  also  be  heard  at  times.  One  track  also  introduces  symphonic  elements  onto  the  recording  but  keeping  the  focus  more  on  a  heavier  style  along  with  all  of  the  music  sticking  to  either  a  slower  or  mid  tempo  musical  direction  and  when  the  music  finally  speeds  up  a  small  amount  of  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard,  spoken  word  parts  are  also  added  on  the  closing  song  briefly.

  On  this  recording  Sapienta  ov  Atlantis  goes  back  to  the  early  90's  era  of  occult  black  and  death  metal,  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  old  school  while t he  lyrics  cover  Atlantean,  Occultism,  Demonology  and  Eastern  Magick  themes.

  Sapientia  ov  Atlantis  are  a  solo  project  from  Sri  Lanka  that  plays  raw  and  symphonic  mixture  of  occult  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  released  2021  ep  "The  Lips  Of  Wisdom  On  Ears  Of  Understanding".

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  death  medal  influenced  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  some  grim  black  metal  screams  a  few  seconds  later.  A  lot  of  the  music  also  brings  back  the  classic  90's  underground  demo  style  and  symphonic  elements  are  also  mixed  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs.

  A  small  amount  of  melody  can  also  be  heard  in  the  guitar  riffing  at  times  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Clean  vocals  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  along  with  the  tracks  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  one  song  also  added  in  a  brief  use  of  whispered  vocals.

  Sapientia  ov  Atlantis  takes  the  90's  era  of  raw  and  symphonic  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  death  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  his  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism,  Atlantean,  Egyptian,  Sumerian  and  Demonology  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Sapientia  ov  Atlantis  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  symphonic  mixture  of  occult  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Awakened  Cosmic  Harmony"  and  "Demonic  Alliance  in  Amenti".  8  out  of  10.
