Exterminas are a band from Italy that plays a very raw and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Dichotmy" which was released as a joint effort between Satanath Records and Metallic Media.
A very fast and melodic black metal sound starts off the album along with some blast beats and growls that add an influence of death metal onto the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some solos and leads that also utilize a great amount of melody.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and the music also brings in more of a modern approach to aggressive black metal along with a couple of the tracks being very long and epic in length and you can also hear the rawness of 90's black metal at times but done with a more up to date approach and the whole album remains true to a very heavy, raw and melodic musical direction.
Exterminas plays a style of black metal that is very raw and melodic but done with a more modern style and death metal style vocals which also makes their music stand out a bit more, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Darkness and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Exterminas are a very great sounding fast and raw black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "God's Hammer" "Upheaval Seems Anathema" and "The Dawn of Deceit'. 8 out of 10.
