Atra Haeresis/Paritas/2024 Full Length Review

 

  Russia/Belarus's  Atra  Haeresis  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  melodic  and  brutal  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  album  "Paritas"  which  will  be  released  sometime  in  2024.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  brutal  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  raw  sounding  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  along  with  some  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing,  spoken  word  parts  and  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  album  as  well  as  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  

  On  this  recording  Atra  Haeresis  plays  a  very  melodic  and  brutal  form  of  blackened  death  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  mythology,  philosophy  and  violence  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Atra  Haeresis  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  melodic  and  brutal  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Prayer  Of  Taurus"  and  "Aeshma  Daevas".  8  out  of  10.

  Atra  Haeresis  are  an  international  band  with  members  from  Russia  and  Belarus  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  melodic  and  brutal  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2022  single  "The  White  Room".

  A  very  heavy  and  brutal  song  starts  off  the  song  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  single  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  death  metal  growls  along  with  the  song  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  black  metal  elements.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  the  riffs  also  add  in  some  melodies  and  the  track  also  brings  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  melodic  chants  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  the  solos  and  leads  also  bring  in  more  of  a  chaotic  style.

  On  this  single  Atra  Haeresis  takes  their  music  into  more  of  a  brutal  blackened  death  metal  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  track  from  Atra  Haeresis  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  melodic  and  brutal  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  the  single.  8  out  of  10.

  Atra  Haeresis  are  an  international  band  with  members  from  Russia  and  Belarus  and  plays  a  brutal  and  melodic  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of t heir  2021  album  "Pretium"  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  between  Satanath,  Kryart  Records  and  Death  Portal  Studio.

  Drum  beats  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  brutal  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  while  the  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  Atra  Haeresis  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  a  very  melodic  and  aggressive  form  of  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  brutal  death  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Darkness,  Necromancy,  Occultism  and Anti  Religion  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Atra  Haeresis  are  a  very  great  sounding  melodic  and  brutal  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Hatechrist"  and  "Aendor  Witch".  8  out  of  10./
