Ramchat/Rmut/HladoHlas/2026 Full Length Review

  Slovakia's  Ramchat  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  avant  garde  form  of  pagan  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "Rmut"  which  was  released  by  HladoHas.

  A  very  fast  and r aw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Synths  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  done  in  more  of  a  grim  black  metal  style.

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  death  metal  growls  are  also  utilized  at  times.  The  recording  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also  adding  in  avant  garde  elements,  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

   Some  songs  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  clear  singing  along  with  one  track  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  stringed  instruments  and  spoken  words  and  operatic  female  vocals  can  also  be  heard  on  a  couple  of  songs.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Slovakian  and  cover  Slavic  Gods,  Paganism  and  Mythology.     

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Ramchat  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  avant  garde  pagan  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Zlokotné  husté  lesy"  "Za  čias  Konov"  and  "Meluzína".  8 out  of  10.

Ramchat/Meluzina/HladoHlas Records/2025 EP Review

 

   Slocakia's  Ramchat  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  atmospheric  mixture  of  pagan  black  and  death  metal and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  ep  "Meluzina"  which  was  released  by  HladoHlas  Records.

  

   Nature  orientated  soundscapes  start  off  the  ep  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  also  mixing  in  some  atmospheric  sounding  synths.  Melodies  are  also  added  into a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  vocals  bring  in  more  of  a  death  metal  approach  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  

  Black  metal  screams  and  clear  pagan  singing  are  also  used  at  times  while  blast  beats  are  also  added  into  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs.  Clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  the  female  vocals  also  capturing  a  more  ethereal  atmosphere  and  when  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  fast  riffing  they  also  give  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  On  this  recording  Ramchat  brings  out  a  very  atmospheric  form  of  pagan  black  metal  as  well  as  mixing  in  a  touch  of  death  metal  to  create  their  own  style.  The  production  so0unds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  pay  homage  to  the  Slavic  Wind  Goddess.

 

   In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Ranchat  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  atmospheric  pagan  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Meluzina".  8  out  of  10.

Ramchat/Krvel/HladoHlas/2022 Full Length Review

 

  Ramchat  are  a  band  from  Slovakia  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  a  mixture  of  pagan  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2022  album  "Krvel"  which  was  released  by  HladoHlas.

  Keyboards  and  clean  playing  start  off  the  album  before  adding  in  some  rough  pagan  metal  style  vocals  a  few  seconds  later  which  also  evolve  into  black  metal  screams.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast b eats  can  be  heard.

  When  tremolo  picking  is  utilized  they  also  give  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  while  death  metal  growls  can  also  be  heard  at  times.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  good  amount  of  melody  as  well  as  one  track  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  female  vocals  

  When  spoken  word  parts  are  utilized  briefly  they  also  give  the  music  more  of  a  ritualistic  feeling  along  with  the  music  also  having  its  atmospheric  moments  as  well  as  a  couple  of  songs  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  folk  instruments  and  shaman  style  drums.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Slovakian  and  cover  Slavic  Paganism,  Gods,  Mythology,  heritage  and  Anti  Christianity  themes.   

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Ramchat  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  pagan  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Mreli"  "MestoBes"  "Prišli  ukradnúť  slnce"  and  "Krveľa".  8  out  of  10.

Ramchat/Znelo Lesom/Slovak MetalArmy/2020 CD Review

 

  Ramchat  are  a  band  from  Slovakia  that  plays  a  pagan  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2020  album  "Znelo  Lesom"  which  will  be  released  in  November  by  Slovak  Metal  Army.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  as  well as  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  death  metal  growls  can  also  be  heard  in  some  parts  of  the  recording.  Spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  some  tracks  also  adding  in a   brief  use  of  acoustic  guitars  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody,  a  couple  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  some  songs  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  keyboards  and  female  vocals.

  Ramchat  plays  a  style  of  pagan  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  melodic  sounding  as  well  as  adding  in  some  elements  of  death  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Slovakian  and  cover  Slavic  Gods,  Mythology,  Paganism,  Heritage  and  Anti  Christianity  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Ramchat  are  a  very  great  sounding  pagan  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "V  case  popadaje"  "Matka  ZEM"  "Jastrab"  and  "Bogyna".  8  out  of  10.
