Unquilty are a solo project from Brazil that plays a very atmospheric and depressive mixture of black and doom metal and this is a review of his self released 20226 album "The Space Between The Heartbeats" which will be released in october.
Clean playing starts off the album along with some keyboards a few seconds later before going into a heavier direction. At times the music also gets very atmospheric sounding while the slower sections of the songs also add in elements of doom metal and the vocals are also done in a depressive black metal style mixed in with a deeper approach.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. Whispers can also be heard briefly along with a great portion of the tracks also being very long and epic in length and blast beats are added into the faster sections of the recording.
Melodies are also added into a lot of the guitar riffing along with a couple of tracks also adding in a small amount of spoken words as well as the music also showing some influences of the 90's era atmospheric doom/death metal style, one song also adds in a brief use of clear singing. The production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics existential silence, nostalgia, the absurd and the quiet violence that lives inside ordinary days.
In my opinion Unquilty is a very great sounding atmospheric and depressive mixture of black and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "We Are Not Who We Are" "Freezing Heart" and "Fields Of Lost Hope". 8 out of 10.
