Nazghor/Esoteric Bloodline/2024 Single Review

Sweden's  Nazghor  have  returned  with  a  new  track  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  melodic  and  satanic  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2024  single  "Esoteric  Bloodline".

A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  song  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Atmospheric  sounding  synths  can  also  be  heard  in  the  background  along  with  the  vocals  also  being  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  as  well  as  the  music  also  mixing  in  elements  of  classic  Swedish  era  melodic  death  metal  and  the  track  also  adds  in a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  the  solos  and  leads  also  mix  in  a  good  amount  of  melody.

On  this  track  Nazghort  brings  out  a  very  classic and  melodic  mid  90's  Swedish  era  style  of  black  and  death  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism  and  Occultism  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  track  from  Nazghor  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  melodic  and  satanic  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  single.  8  out  of  10.

When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  while  the  vocals  are  very  aggressive  sounding  black  metal  screams.  The  riffs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  melody  along  with  the  music  also  being  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  classic  Swedish  style  and  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  a  couple  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

On  this  recording  Nazghor  takes  their  music  into  more  of  a  melodic  and  atmospheric  style  of  satanic  black  metal  as  well  as  remaining  very  fast,  aggressive  and  true  to  the  Swedish  tradition.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Darkness,  Death  and  Crusades.

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording and release of the new album?

Nazghor: We focused on live shows and our upcoming tour.

2.Recently you have released a new album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?

Nazghor: This sound is more clear and less aggressive. It felt like we needed this sound since it has so many melodies and thus we summoned sound technician Jaime to lend a touch on it. Even thou this album is different in a way from its predecessors, still has that Nazghor ingredients that is necessary for a record of this band. We are very satisfied with the final product

3. In 3 years you have put out 5 albums, do you put a great amount of time and effort into the band?

Nazghor: Yes! When we decide that a Nazghor period is upon us, then it’s the priority of every singe one of us. We always set that goal necessary before writing new albums and we always achieve that goal.

4.The lyrics deal with anti cosmic satanism and devil worship and the band name is also associated with Satan, can you tell us a little bit more about your dedication to the left hand path?

Nazghor: This band and its ideology is a liberation of the free mind from the poisoned religious world. But we are only students of the dark arts so we seek guidance through our music and lyrics.

5. I have heard that the live show is almost like a ritual, can you tell us a little bit more about your stage performance?

Nazghor: It is a ritual indeed. Since we play this melodies along with Nekhrids beseeching for that darkest answer, a mass is produce and the people around it are its witness.

6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the new album?

Nazghor: We are heading for a mini tour in Poland and to play at *Kings of Black Metal 2016’ as we speak. This is to promote *Death’s Withered Chants*

7.On the new album you had a quest, can you tell us who he is and also his contribution to the recording?

Nazghor: We summoned Anders Strokirk of mighty Necrophobic. That we did to give *Craft of the Nihilist* a different feeling and a more evil aura.

His vocals on that song are new element on our temple.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?

Nazghor: We have heard great things about this one and there are some really great reviews with too. Even the local Uppsala newspaper worship it.

9.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that share some of the same band members?

Nazghor: Some of us has some bands or projects besides Nazghor, however there is nothing new to say about  this.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Nazghor: We will do what we are good at and that is making music. We will see of other elements to add to future releases but nothing is decided and nothing is impossible

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Nazghor: Some of us listen to all kinds of black metal including the depressive kind, while others listen to death and thrash metal. We combine that power with the sound of Nazghor to create our own tones.

12.Before we wrap up this interview do you have any final words or thoughts?
