Wolfbastard/Hammer The Bastards/Clobber Records/Clobber Records/2022 Full Length Review

 

  Wolfbastard  are  a  band  from  the  United  Kingdom  and  plays  a  raw  mixture  of  black  metal,  d  beat,  crust  punk  and  blackened  hardcore  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  album  "Hammer  The  bastards"  which  will  be  released  in  2022  by  Clobber  Records.

  A  very  heavy  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  music  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  d  beat  and  crust  punk  elements  and  some  of  the  vocals  also  add  in  a  touch  of  hardcore.

  A  lot  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  while  also  being  very  modern  sounding  at  the  same  time.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  The  riffs  also  add in  a  small  amount  of  melody  at  times  along  with  some  spoken  word  parts  also  being  utilized  briefly  and  when  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  finally  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  raw  yet  melodic  style  as  well  as  some  of  the  riffing  also  showing influences  of  thrash  metal  and  the  whole  album  also  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Violence  and  War  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album f rom  Wolfbastard  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  black  metal,  d  beats,  crust  punk  and  blackened  hardcore,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUD E "Can't  Escape  The  Grave"  "Buckfast  Blasphemies"  "Returning  Evil"  and  "Graveyard  Slag".  8  out  of  10.

Wolfbastard/Graveyard Sessions/UKEM Records/2018 CD Review

  Wolfbastard  are  a  band  from  the  United  Kingdom  that  has  had  an  album  reviewed  before  in  this  zien  and  plays  a  mixture  of  raw  black  metal,  d  beat  and  crust  and  this  a  review  of  their  2018  album  "Graveyard  Sessions"  which  will  be  released  on  July  13th  by  UKEM  Records.

  A  very  fast  crust  and  d  beat  influenced  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  a  few  seconds  later  while  the  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  also  gives  the  songs  a  more  raw  feeling  and  the  music  also  brings  in  a  great  amount  of  90's  influences.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  one  of  the  songs  introducing  guitar  leads  and  melodies  onto the recording  and  as  the  album  progresses  the  bass  guitars  are  used  more  as  a  lead  instrument  as  well  as  a  great  portion  of  the  tracks  being  very  short  in  length.

  Wolfbastard  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  their  mixture  of  black  metal,  d  beat  and  crust  punk,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Booze,  Violence  and  Nuclear  War  themes. 

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Wolfbastard  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black  metal,  d  beat  and  crust  punk,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Drink  Fucking  Beer,  Hail  Fucking  Satan"  "Khold  Death"  "Kill  Yourself"  and  "Whiskey  Militia".  8  out  of  10.

Wolfbastard/Self Titled/UKEM Records/2015 CD Review

  Wolfbastard  are  a  band  from  the  United  Kingdom  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black  metal,  d  beat  and  crust  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  2015  album  which  will  be  released  in  October  by  UKEM  Records.

  Horror  movie  samples  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  more  of  a  heavier  musical  direction  which also  mixes  crust  and  raw  black  metal  together  along  with  some  high  pitched  screams  and  deep  growls  that  are  brought  in  at  times  and  the  faster  sections  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  blast  and  d  beats.

  Most  of  the  black  metal  elements  on  the  recording  are  rooted  in  the  early  90's  second  wave  Norwegian  style  and  some  of  the  riffs  also  use  a  small  amount  of  melodies  and  you  can  also  hear  elements  of  thrash  in  some  parts  of  the  songs  and  all  of  the  tracks  stick  to  either  a  mid  tempo  or  fast  paced  musical  direction  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  as  the  album  progresses  the  vocals  start  adding  in  more  of  a  shouting  punk  approach  to  singing  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  the  recording.

  Wolfbastard  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  raw  black  metal,  d  beat  and  crust  punk  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the  production  sounds  very heavy  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  violent,  hateful,  Satanism  and  Anti  Religion  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Wolfbastard  are  a  very great  sounding  mixture  of  black  metal,  d  beat  and  crust  punk  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  these  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Goat  Tyranny"  "Death  Filth  Disease"  "Lupine  bastards"  and  "Summoning  The  Antichrist".  8  out  of  10.
