Viranesir/Satanic Mosque/Merdumgiriz/2017 Full Length Review

Turkey's  Viranesir  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  that  moves  away  from  the  experimental  black  metal  sound  that  they  are  known  for  and  goes  for  a  very  offensive  and  politically  incorrect  style  of  hip  hop  on  this  recording  and  this  is  a review  of  their  2017  album  "Satanic  Mosque"  which  was  released  by  Merdumgiriz.

Dark  sounding  ambient  style  synths  and spoken  word  parts  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  melodic  r  &  b  vocals  a  few  seconds  later  before  going  into  more  of  a  hip  direction  which  includes  rap  style  vocals  that  also  add  in  a  grim  touch  of  black  metal  at  times  along  with  the  bests  being  programmed  and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  melodic  and  ritualistic  chanting and  one  of  the  tracks  is very  long  and  epic  in length.

Viranesir  plays  a  style  of hip hop  and rap  that  is  very  politically  incorrect  and  funny  while  only  having  a  small  touch  of  black  metal,  the production  sounds  very  dark  while the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Anti  Islam,  Politically  Incorrect  and  Anti  Black  Metal  Poser  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  a  decent  attempt  at  hip  hop  by  Viranesir  and  while  most  black  metal  fans  would  hate  this  album,  I  can  see  it  appealing  to  the  more  open  minded  people  that  are  looking  for  something  that  is  very  offensive  and  antifa  and  other  hard  left  wingers  will  still  hate  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Worthless  Bitches  and  Turkish  Mob  Life"  and  "Trailblazer  Trickster".  7  out  of  10.

Viranesir/Supports Flag Burning And Female Raping/Merdumgiriz/2017 CD Review

Turkey's  Viranesir  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  that  continues  the  politically  incorrect  and  offensive  style  of  experimental  black  metal  from  their  previous  releases  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "Supports  Flag  Burning  And  Female  Raping"  which  was  released  by  Merdumgiriz.

Ambient  style  synths  and  grim  whispers  start  off  the  album  before  evolving  more  into  depressive  black  metal  screams  and  clean  guitars  can  also  be  heard  at  times  and  after  awhile  the  music  starts  getting  more  heavy  and  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  the  riffing  and  when t he  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

Deep  death  metal  growls  can  be  heard  in  some  parts  of  the  songs  and  the  tremolo  picking  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  black  metal  feeling  and  the  tracks  also bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  adding  in  humor  that  is  rarely  heard  in  the  genre  and  as  the  album  progresses  more  psychedelic  and  sludge  elements  are  added  onto  the  recording and  spoken  word  parts  are  also used  at  times.

Viranesir  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  the  experimental  and  depresive  style  of  black  metal  from  previous  releases  while  also  adding  in  touches  of  death  metal,  sludge,  ambient  and  psychedelia,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while t he  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Anti  Christianity,  Anti  Islam  and  the  most  politically  incorrect  stuff  ever  done  in  a  humorous  matter  along  with  a  few  tracks  being  written  in  Turkish.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  experimental  and  depressive  black  metal  and  can  easily  handle  a  joke,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Metal Is  Full  Of  Fggots"  "Christians  Oppose  Abortion  Because  They  Like  To  Fuck  Kids"  "Instagram  Oruspusi/Fat  Bitch"  and  "666-Gerzuk  Oruspu".  8  out of  10.

Viranesir/Dad's Choking On My Vomit Of His Semen/Merdumgiriz/2016 CD Review

Turkey's  Viranesir  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for   more  of  a  synth  pop  orientated  style  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  album  "Dad's  Choking  On  My  Vomit  Of  his  Semen"  which  was  released  by  Merdumgiriz.

Avant  garde style  synths  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  depressive  black  metal  screams  as  cries  and  drum  beats  a  few  seconds  later  and  clean  singing  new  wave  style  vocals  which  also  bring  in  touches  of  goth  and death  rock  can  also  be  heard  at  times  and  the  music  also  mixes  in  a  lot  of  80's  synth  pop  elements.

Programmed  blast  beats  along  with  some  industrial  elements  can be  heard  briefly  and  all  of t he  songs  avoid  using  any  having  guitars  or  bass  which  where  a  very  huge  part  of  the  earlier  recordings  while  still  having  a  dark  and   evil  atmosphere.

Viranesir  plays  a  different  musical  style  on  this  recording  than  they  do  with  previous  releases  going  for  more  of  a  synth  pop  direction  while  still  having  some  depressive  black  metal  elements , the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark,  demented  and  depressive  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Viranesir  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  depressive  black  metal  or  synth  pop,  you  should  check  out t his  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Soul"  "The  Father  In  Me"  and  "Napthalene".  8  out  of  10.

Viranesir/Children's Suicide Music ((Ritual Of (Love) Is The Key))/Merdumgiriz/2015 Full Length Review

Turkey's  Viranesir  have  returned  once  again  with  a  new  album  with  the  music  style  this  time  around  being  synth  driven  blackened  doom  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2015  album  "/Children's Suicide Music ((Ritual Of (Love) Is The Key))"  which  was  released  by  Merdumgiriz.

A  very  dark  and  atmospheric ambient  synth  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  programmed  beats  and  clean  singing  vocals  that  also  use  depressive  black  metal  screams  at  times  and  the  music  also  gets  psychedelic  and  experimental  at  times  along  with  soem  spoken  word  ritualistic  parts  being  utilized at  times.

Female  vocals  can  be  heard  in  some  parts  of  the  songs  and  the  music  at  the  time  has  the  atmosphere  that  reminds  me  of  some  horror  movies  that  involve   children  and  violent  nightmares  and  there  are  also  certain  sections  of  the  recording  where  real  drums  are  utilized  and  they  also  add  a  small  amount  of  blast  beats  onto  the  recording  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  elements  of  doom  metal  and  some  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

Viranesir  creates  an  album  that  stays  away from  the  guitar  orientated  stuff  of  previous  recordings  and  focuses  more  of  a  synth  sound  this  time  around  that  has  the feeling  of  a  nightmare  soundtrack  while  still  having  elements  of  depressive  black  metal  and  doom,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  depression,  child's  nightmares  and  suicidal  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  recording  from  Viranesir  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black  and  doom  metal  influenced  synth  music,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Lovegate"  "Darkness  Always"  and  "In  The  Underground".  8  out  of  10.

Viranesir/You Jewish Bastards/Merdumgiriz/2015 EP Review

Turkey's  Viranesir  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  that  continues  the  experimental  black  metal  style  of  previous  recordings  while  also  putting  out  their  most  shocking  and  offensive  songs  to  date and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2015 ep  "You  Jewish  Bastards"  which  was  released  by  Merdumgiriz.

A  very  dark  and  distorted  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  a  raw  and  melodic  style  of  black  metal  that  uses  a  grim  style  of  vocals  and  screams  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording  along  with  the  faster  sections  bringing  in  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats.

Throughout  the  recording  you  can  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts   and  when  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  very  dark  and  melodic  and  when  synths  and  clean  playing  are  utilize  they  add  more  atmosphere  to  the  music  and  a  great  portion  of the  tracks  are very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  the  vocals  can  also  get  very  dark  at  times  while  soem  of  the  slower  riffs  bring  in  elements  of  doom  metal.

Viranesir  creates  a  recording  that  displays  more  of  a  raw  style  of  black  metal  than  what  has  been  presented  on  past  recordings  while  still  having  a  touch  of  experimental  to  them,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  white  power  and  racism  themes  but  done  in  a  more  shocking  and  humorous  matter.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Viranesir  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  experimental  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Hitler  Rape"  and  "The  Neo  Nazi's".  8  out  of  10.

Survival/Viranesir/Unity/Solaris/Merdumgiriz 2015 Split Album Review

This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album  between  U.S.A's  "Survival  and  Turkey's  Viranesir  called  "Unity/Solaris"  which  was  released  by  Merdumgiriz  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Survival  a  band  that  plays  a  mixture  of  hardcore  and  thrash.

Their  side  of  the split  starts  out  with  a  very  heavy  and  old  school  hardcore  sound  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  sound  very  powerful  and  a  few  seconds  later  clean  singing  vocals  are  added  into  the  music  and  after  awhile  elements  of  thrash  are  added  onto  the  recording  and  when  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  more  melodic  metal  fashion  and  after  awhile  the  vocals  start  utilizing  more  aggression  along  with  some  back  up  gang  shouts  being  utilized  at  times  and a  couple  of  the  songs  also  brings  in  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing,  the  production  sounds  very  powerful  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  real  life  themes.

In  my opinion  Survival  are  a  very  mediocre  melodic  mixture  of  hardcore  and  thrash  and  sound  like  a  generic  one  hit  wonder  from  the  early 90's,  and  I  can  not  really recommend  them  to  anyone  unless  they  like  anything  good  or  bad  that  was  released  in  94.  5  out  of  10.

Next  up  is  Viranesir  a  band  from  Turkey  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  an  experimental mixture  of  black  and  doom  metal.

Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  grim spoken  word  parts,  bass  guitars  and  dark  sounding synths  and clean  singing  vocals  are  also  used  on  a  regular  basis  and  the  songs  also  mix  in  the  heaviness  of  doom  metal  and  after  awhile  the  vocals  start  adding in  more  black  metal  elements  and  when  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  very  dark,  depressive  and  melodic  sounding  and  some  of  the  songs  also  bring  in  avant  garde  and  goth  elements  and  they  also do  a  cover  of  Peste  Noire's  "Night  Of  The  Mare",  the  production  sound s very  dark,  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  depressive  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Viranesir  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  experimental,  black  and  doom  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Dream's  House"  and  "Night  Of  The  Nare".  8  out  of  10.

In  conclusion  the  first  half  of  the  split  was  not  my  thing,  but  the  other  half  is  worth  checking  out  for  the  songs  Viranesir  bring  onto  the  split.

Viranesir Interview

1. For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the musical project?

Viranesir was in my thoughts to be a side project in which I was to explore relatively more experimental subjects and styles. In a way, a creatively fuelling side project to my main project YAYLA. I finally created it to score my film “Drink From The Fountain Of Uncertainty” and then it morphed into its own thing. There are radical stylistic and topical changes between each album, but so far the uniting factor can be considered their weirdness’s I think.

2. I have read that this musical project was supposed to be a fictional character's project from a movie you where working on, can you tell us a little bit more about this film?

“Drink From The Fountain Of Uncertainty” is my first feature length narrative film. It tells the story of a musician that has deep problems trapped in a hole that he digs deeper trying to climb out of. I have written-shot-cut this film by myself around my hometown, and my to be band mate from Viranesir; Merdumgiriz played the lead role and helped greatly with production. I did not release it yet, but the parties concerned can get in contact with me if they want to see it.

3. Recently you have released a new album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have done in the past with this project?

Guitar, drums, vocals made raw experimental massacre. In this album, Merdumgiriz and I switched instruments and mainly worked with abstract hate and immediacy. It is different in that the previous two albums did not have guitar in it, and except their weirdness and chaos had a whole different musical style going on. The first album “Fountain Of Uncertainty”; although Metal like this one, had a way more concise, depressive and alien style while having way less riffs and progression.

4. You have some very offensive and politically incorrect lyrics with this project; can you tell us a little bit more about the songwriting?

I not only don’t have a concept of political correctness; I think it is very unhealthy to put limitations on speech. That having said, I accept the fact that this album can prove to be ultra offensive for some and made out of spite of the recent upheaval of the guilt propaganda and censorship agenda of fascists under liberal skins affecting our metal. The main idea behind doing such controversial work is to show that I do not feel guilty for saying what has been said, and even enjoy saying it. Before attacking me for making this statement, which so perfectly mirrors that whoever gets most offended, people ought to realize that they do the same. They not only have a good time while the things I sing about happen, they indirectly if not directly participate in them. They also seem to think manipulating and not talking about these subjects can achieve a merrier world. The only merry one will get out of ignoring their participation in the crimes that I am talking about will be their reoccurrence I think. Me singing about it as I am someone who does these things and enjoy it mirror humanity more honestly than it shows itself in my opinion. Using these words lightly also open the gates to taking away the religious zeal around them which then might lead to their free interpretation which will flourish the world of fine art.

5. How have some people react to the lyrics on the album, have you heard anything from very sensitive people getting angry?

I have heard that a lot of random people mainly thought it was insensitive, stupid or pure evil. I have seen couple feminist scum trying to form some sort of alliance on boycotting it. It makes me sigh that people become hate protesters once they find something to hold onto in this life (religion, ideology, parenting, position, possession). Most things deserve to be destroyed and hated but just because our limited minds cannot find ways to include them in our lives. We do in turn someway or another either destroy them or turn away from them. In my life I am no different than most hypocrites who live like their choices are so noble, but in art I am all for freedom of speech and free thought. However I do my best to limit it to the privacy of my art not on other people. Not that I have a problem with people doing it on other people, just the ones claiming that they don’t. I don’t expect nowadays people to get something as deep as freedom, but I know that freedom of speech is the future, I can see it and I am sick of waiting for people to accept the future.

6. What are some of the things you feel that you bring out with this musical project that you have not been able to with the other ones that you are working on?

Viranesir is like a free fall band in which I puke out all the piss within me. I do not let myself have this much freedom and immediacy in my other projects. I also have a lot of standpoints, criminal intentions and strong feelings for petty things and Viranesir is where I get most of the anger out in a socially acceptable platform. I have made psychedelic synthpunk to experimental doom metal in this band and I will continue towards more fucked up musical territory in the future. YAYLA is a tranceful fiery metal monolith with more spirituality and BLLIIGGHHTTED is a progressive extreme chaos with more philosophical inclinations. They can change too, but not as drastic and schizophrenic like Viranesir I don’t think.

7. Are you open to working with any other musician's on this project?

I have two more members in this band, Merdumgiriz and Ruhanathanas. The last album was all Merdumgiriz’ guitars. The future of this band will include both members as we’ve made numerous to be released material, but it is essentially my project and I can se myself make more one man albums. So much as I can see myself recruit more members.

8. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to this project by fans of black metal and experimental music?

It has been really good. The real black metal fans never fail to endorse extreme things let alone shying from them. They have been very open to hearing what I really had to say and quite a lot of them enjoyed the music. I always say that Black Metal is the pinnacle of fine art, and its real fans are the real people with a perpetual critical eye. We’ve had very good conversations about evil through my album. Even some who were not capable of conversing about it thought it was somehow “cool” which is sort of better than turning away from the sight of it. Experimental music people are usually lame ass fucking hipsters who are politically correct, so not that many good reactions yet! But we can always hope for the better.

9. Are there any musical influences that you brought onto the new recording that you have not been able to do with the other recordings you have put out?

Musically speaking it is the most immediate and hardcore punkish hateful album I’ve ever been involved in. I have played drums for the first time on a recording on this album. It is also the album with the least amount of instruments (one guitar, drums, three vox). Lyrically, I have touched what might seem to be my most extreme subjects yet in a socio-political context. The GG Allin, Anal Cunt and that sort of influence very much slipped through to our recording without being as satirical.

10. Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

I’d like to thank you, for always giving us a chance to express ourselves through your site, and salute all the work you are doing for the underground music scene.

Viranesir/Raping Lesbians For Freedom/Merdumgiriz/2014 CD Review

Viranesir  are  a  duo  from  Turkey  that  plays  a  very  politically  incorrect  form  of  experimental  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2014  album  "Raping  Lesbians  For  Freedom"  which  was  released  by  Merdumgiriz.

Distorted  guitar  noises  and  melodic  chants  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  slow  yet  heavy  riffing  which  also  uses  some  melody  at times  and  deep  yet  grim  black  metal  screams  which  also  have  a  depressive  feeling  at  times  start  making  their  presence  known  on  the  recording  which  leads  up  to  more  fast  parts  being  added  into  the  music  that  also  bring  in  the  energy  of  punk.

The  slower  sections  of  the  music  have  a  doom  metal  feeling  to  them  and  some  of  the  alter  tracks  also  add  clean  playing  into  certain  sections  of  the  recording  along  with  a  good  portion  of  the  tracks  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  the  music  brings  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  with  the  faster  sections  bringing  a  very  raw  black  metal  sound  to  the  recording.

Throughout  the  album  the  melodic  vocals  mix  in  with  the  more  extreme  vocals  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  an  experimental  and  avant  garde  black  metal  feeling  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  at  times  and  when  solos  and  leads  are  finally  added  into  the  music  they  are  in  a  few  and  melodic  musical  direction.

Viranesir  plays  a  very  experimental  and  avant  garde  form  of  music  that  also  mixes  in  a  great  amount  of  raw  and  depressive  black  metal  elements  along  with  a  touch  of  doom  and  punk  to  create  a  very  original  sounding  recording,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  most  disturbing,  offensive  and  politically incorrect  themes  you  can  possibly  think  off  but  done  in  more  of  a  humorous  fashion.

In  my  opinion  Viranesir  are  a  very  great  sounding  experimental  black  metal  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Heil  Hitler"  "I  Only  Like  Jews  When  They  Kill  Muslims"  "Fuck  Your  Parents,  Kill  Them,  Cook  Them  Up  And  Eat  Them"  and  "Intoleran,  National  Imperialist,  Racist  Hate  Metal  Therapist,  The  Rapist".  8  out  of  10.
