Ringare/Of Momentous Endless Night/Avantgarde Music/2023 Full Length Review

 

  U.S.A/Sweden's  duo  Ringare  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  atmospheric  from  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2023  album  "Of  Momentous  Endless  Night"  which  will  be  released  on  December  15th  by  Avantgarde  Music.

  Rain  and  thunder  sounds  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  atmospheric  sounding  synths  a  few  seconds  alter  which  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast b eats  can  also  be  heard.

  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Clear  vocals  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  along  with  the  album  also  mixing  in  influences  from  both  the  old  school  and  modern  era  of  the  genre.

  On  this  recording  Ringare  goes  for  more  of  a  synth  orientated  and  epic  style  of  atmospheric  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  past  battles,  nefarious  rituals  and  Satanic  summoning's.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Ringare  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Usurping  Dark  Magicks"  and  "Blood  pact  Vindication".  8  out  of  10.

Ringare/Thrall Of Winter's Majesty/Amor Fati Productions/2021 CD Review

 

  Ringare  are  an  international  duo  with  members  from  the  United  States  and  Sweden  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  the  recording  plays  an  ambient  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2021  album  "Thrall  Of  Winter's  majesty"  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  Amor  Fati  Productions.

  Ambient  style  synths  start  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music  at  times.  All  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  guitar  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  music  also  adding  in  a  good  amount  of  90's  influences  as  well  as  a  couple  of  the  tracks  also  being  instrumentals,  all  of  the  drum  beats  are  also  programmed. The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  nature,  death  and  misanthropy  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Ringare  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  ambient  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Witness  To  Winter's  Lament"  and  "Thrall  Of  Winter's  Majesty".  8  out  of  10.

Ringare/Under Pale Moon/Iron Bonehead Productions/2019 CD Review

  Ringare  a  duo  from  the  United  States  that  plays  a  synth  orientated  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of their  2019  album  "Under  Pale  Moon"  which  will  be  released  in March  by  Iron  Bonehead  Productions.

  Atmospheric  sounding  synths  start  off  the  album  and  also  mix  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music.  All of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  music  also  being  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  tradition.  Throughout  the  recording  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  while  clean  guitars  are  used  briefly  on  the  closing  track.

  Most  of  the tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  the  riffs  also  display  a  great  amount  of  melodic  moments  throughout  the  album.  A  lot  of  the  music  could  of  easily  been  recorded  and  released  more  than  25  years  ago  with  the  way  the  musicians  capture  the  atmosphere  of  the  era  and  as  the  album  progresses  an  instrumental  is  added  onto  the  recording.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  mysticism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Ringare  a  very  great  sounding  old  school  synth  orientated  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Under  Pale  Moon"  and  "Through  Forest  And  Fog".  8/5  out  of  10.
