Subduer Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the musical project?
We are a duo from Germany that formed in late 2017 and we combine War Metal and Power Electronics.

2.So far this year you have been a part of a split and also released your first ep, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on both of the recordings?
2.We
try to play the most extreme music possible, therefore we don´t care for hifi production or complicated riffing or drumming, we are concerned with making oppressive noise.

3.According to your fb page you refer to your music as 'Godless Noise Terror propaganda', can you tell us a little bit more about this term, and I also saw a video on youtube that refers to your music as lo-fi war noise, how does this apply to the musical style that you play?
3.The term originates from the two styles of music we play, noise and war metal. Terror refers to the sonic chaos we portray through our playing.

4.The album artwork and the lyrics cover a lot of hatred for Anti Abrahamic Religions, can you tell us a little bit more about your hatred for those religions and also what are your thoughts on the snowflakes that claim to be anti religious but get all sensitive when your blasphemous towards Islam?
4.We never released our lyrics anywhere, I don´t know what you mean by that, but our band is vehemently anti-Abrahamic. Everyone who worships a god, no-matter what name this god has, is scum. As for the snowflakes, we think that one should stand behind what he
believes in. Beliefs only make sense if you fight for them, therefore we are against all religions and we couldn´t give less of a fuck if someone is offended by that.

5.With your band names you use 'Shemhamforash' and 'Az-Zaganiyya, do the band members have any interest in Satanism or Occultism?
No. We're not interested in any of that, these names refer to Islam and are simply serve as mockery.

6.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Subduer'?
A Subduer is someone who reigns over somebody else, violently, we thought that this name fits our music and the message we try to express with it.

7.Can you tell us a little bit more about the masks that you cover your faces with, do these have a certain meaning?
We use these masks to cover our personas, we use them to become faceless, much like the foot soldiers of terrorist organizations, so people can´t identify our work with our personas, they can only identify with the music itself

8.Currently there are only 2 members in the band, do you feel it is hard to find musicians that share the same visions that you have?
Yes.Because the style of music we play is still very young and not really made for the mainstream audience, on the other hand, we like to be a duo, cause we know exactly what we want to do and we can communicate that very well

9.Recently you where a part of a split with 'Corpo', what are your thoughts on the solo project that was a part of the recording?
We are good friends with Odio and we fully support him and his music.

10.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of extreme metal and harsh noise?
There wasn´t too much feedback yet, since we´re fairly new and unknown, but the feedback we've gotten has been good and that people support the War-Noise campaign.

11.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
.We are currently planning a full length release, but we didn't want to give away too much. Expect even more sonic chaos with the next release.

12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
We are highly influenced by Revenge, Teitanblood, Nyogthaeblisz and Tetragrammacide, along with noise artists like Grunt and Bizarre Uproar. We´re also big fans of old-school death and black metal. Autopsy, Incantation, Blasphemy, Darkthrone, Hellhammer, Master's
 Hammer, Grand Belial's Key, etc.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Thanks for having us, support Blutrausch Propaganda and HAIL Corpo, Abkehr, Into Coffin, Blodigel, Obsidian Grave, the entirety of NVNM, Methgoat, Zygotical and all who support the War-Noise Terrorist Campaign. NO MERCY FOR THOSE WHO ARE WEAKENED BY GOD!

Subduer/Death Monolith/Dunkelheit Produktionen/2018 EP Review

Subduer  are  a  band  from  Germany  that  plays  a  very  raw,  lo-fi,  and  bestial  mixture  of  harsh  noise,  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018  ep  "Death  Monolith"  which  will  be  released  in  May  by  Dunkelheit  Produktionen.

Harsh  noises  and  power  electronics  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  spoken  word  parts  being  added  onto  the  recording  a  few  seconds  later  while  the  music  also  mixes  in  elements  of  death  industrial  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  while  the  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  bestial  growls  and  black  metal  screams.

At  times  the  bass  guitars  take  over  as  a  lead  instrument  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  use  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  songs  a  more  raw  feeling  along  with  some  elements  of  war  metal  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  last  song  is  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

Subduer  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  mixes  it  with  harsh  noise  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  the  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  cover  death  and  violence  themes.

In  my  opinion  Subduer  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  war,  black,  death  metal  and  harsh  noise  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Death  Monolith"  and  "Execution  Ritual".  8/5  out  of  10.
