Endlos are a band from Germany that plays a mixture of depressive black metal and doom and this is a review of their 2016 album "Im Fallen Verlaufen" which was released as a joint effort between Symbol Of Domination productions and Narbentage Produktionen.
Spoken word parts start off the album and after a minute the music goes into a very fast and raw black metal direction that also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals range from angry shouts to grim screams and melodies can also be heard in the music at times.
When the music slows down a great amount of doom metal elements can be heard and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the solos and leads also use a great amount of melody and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while also adding in more of an atmospheric and depressive style on the later tracks.
Classical and acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording while on some songs the vocals also add in deep growls and spoken words also make a return as the album progresses while some riffs also add in a touch of punk while a couple of songs add in female vocals and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and there is also keyboards being added onto the last track.
Endlos plays a style of black metal that is very raw and depressive while also mixing in a great amount of doom metal elements and other styles to create something very original, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics are written in German and cover dark and depressive themes.
In my opinion Endlos are a very great sounding mixture of depressive black metal and doom and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Frontbericht" "Spiegelbild" and "Zeitloses Schweigen". 8 out of 10.
