Zerstörung/Erl​ö​sung/2024 Full Length Review

 

    Zerstörung  are  a  solo  project  from  Germany  that  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  released  2024  album  "Erl​ö​sung".

  Melodic  guitar  leads  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  heavy  riffing  a  few  seconds  later  while  chants  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  are  also  utilized  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  songs  also  add  in a   good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  One  song  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing  along  with  the  tracks  also  mixing  in  the  raw  energy  of  punk  rock  at  times  and  the  album  also  adds  in  a  lot  of  old  school  touches,  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  closing  track  is  an  instrumetnal.

  Zerstörung plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  taw  and  nihilistic  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  German  and  cover  occultism,  rage,  hatred  and  depression  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Zerstörung  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Regen"  "Verachtung"  and  "Zerfall".  8  out  of  10.

The Infamous Gehenna/Bleach Everything/Heavy Metal Suicide/Magic Bullet Records/2016 Split EP Review

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  ep  between  Nevada's  The  Infamous  Gehenna  and  Virginia's  Bleach  Everything  called  "Heavy  Metal  Suicide"  which will  be  released  in  August  by  Magic  Bullet  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  the  infamous  Gehenna  a  band  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  mixture  of  raw  black  metal  and  hardcore  punk.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  heavy  guitar  sound  along  with  some  elements  of  hardcore  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  it  brings  in  more  of  a  raw  style  of t he  genre  along  with  a  great amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  and  there  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow, mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  the  production  sounds  very  powerful  while  the  lyrics  cover  real  life  and  drinking  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  The  Infamous  Gehenna  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this band,  you  should  check  out t heir  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Get  Fucked  Up".

  Next  up  is  Bleach  Everything  a  band  that  plays  hardcore  with  some  punk  elements.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  heavy  hardcore  sound  along  with  some  aggressive  shouting  vocals  that  also  use  screams  at  times  and  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  small  amount  of  melodies  along  with  the  energy  of  punk  and  there  songs  are  very  short  in  length,  the  production  sounds  very  powerful  while  the  lyrics  cover  angry themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Bleach  Everything  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  hardcore,  you  should c heck  out t heir  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Witch,  Please".

  In  conclusion  i  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  i  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  black  metal  and  hardcore.  8  out  of  10.

Black Pestilence/Carry On The Black Flame/2016 EP Review

  Black  Pestilence  are  a  band  from  Alberta,  Canada  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and plays  a  raw  form  of  black  metal  with  elements  of  noise  and  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2016  ep  "Carry  On  the  Black  Flame".

  A  dark  lo-fi  atmosphere  starts  off  the  ep  before  going  into  a  heavier  crust  punk  direction  where  you  can  also  hear  all  of the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording  and  once  the  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  the  music  starts  mixing  in  with  more  of  a  raw  style  of  that  genre  along  with  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  back  up  shouts  and  some  of  the  riffs  also  add  in  elements  of  thrash  and  traditional  punk  along  with  a  brief  chorus  that  almost  close  to the  pop  side  of  the  genre  while  the  music  remains  raw  and  heavy  and  when  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  melodic  fashion  and  as  the ep  progresses  a  brief  use  of  noise  sounds  can  be  heard  and  the  music  also  remains  heavy  and  raw  from  beginning  to  ending  of  the  recording  and  the  last  track  also  brings  in  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts.

  Black  Pestilence  creates  another  recording  that  takes  a  raw  style  of  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  punk  and  a  touch  of  noise  to  create  a  style  that  some  might  consider  as  being  blackened  punk,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  yet  heavy  at  the  same  time  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism  and  Social  Issue  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Black  Pestilence  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  punk  influenced  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep. RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Demon  Cathedral"  and  "Rise  For  Satan".  8  out  of  10.

C.O.F.O.C/Dogs Of Hell/The True Blackevil/2014 EP Review

  C.O.F.O.C  are  a  band  from  Brazil  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  with  a  musical  style  on  this  recording  that  mixes  raw  and  blasphemous  sounding  black  metal  with  elements  of  noise  and  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2014  ep  "Dogs  Of  Hell"  which  was  released  by  The  True  Blackevil.

  The  ep  starts  out  with  harsh  noise  sounds  and  demonic  growls  along  with  some  drums  in  the  background  and  a  very  lo-fi  and  raw  black  metal  sound  and  the  vocals  also  go  into  that  direction  as  well  as  bringing  in  more  grim  elements.

  As  the  ep  progresses  more  bestial  black  metal  sounds  are  brought  into the  music  along  with  the  drums  being  the  most  powerful  sounding  instrument  on  this  recording  and  the  last  track  is  a  cover  of  G.G  Allin's  "Bite  It  You  Scum".

  C.O.F.O.C  create  a  very  blasphemous  sound  on  this  recording  without  having  to  really  on  guitars  and  proves  that  black  metal  can  still  sound  very  evil  with  drums  and  vocals  along  with  a  raw  and  primitive  production  and  lyrics  that  cover  satanic,  anti  christian,  alcohol  and  hateful  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  C.O.F.O.C  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  blasphemous  black  metal  mixed  in  with  noise  and  punk,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "666  to  Pope"  and  "Bite  It  You  Scum".  8  out  of  10.
