Russia/Ukraine's Montes Insania have returned with a new recording which continues the avant garde style of post black metal from previous releases and this is a review of their 2018 album Fikcia Erao" which was released as a joint effort between Symbol Of Domination and More Hate Productions.
Blast beats and symphonic sounds start off the album while also introducing grim black metal screams onto the recording a few seconds later along the music also bringing in a great amount of avant garde elements a few seconds later as well as the faster sections of the songs also adding in a great amount of blast beats.
Spoken word parts can also be heard in certain sections of the recording while the riffs also add in a great amount of melody along with some death metal growls also being added into certain sections of the recording as well as the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style
Most of the tracks are long and epic in length while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of blast beats along with the songs also bringing in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as one track also introducing female vocals onto the recording and one of the later tracks is an instrumental before returning back to a heavier direction on the following songs and as the album progresses a brief use of spoken word parts can also be heard.
On this recording Montes Insania brings in more symphonic elements while also expanding on the avant garde elements that are a part of their post black metal style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Russian and cover existential, Interpersonal, and Divinity themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Montes Insania and if you are a fan of avant garde and post black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Akto De Morto" "Akto De Kaoso" and "Akto De Malplena". 8 out of 10.
